Launch and first release of Beo Mayo records on 10 December 2023
The Beo Mayo Living History Archive was officially launched at the annual Mayo GAA Convention on the 10 December 2023, at the Castle Court Hotel in Westport. With approximately 8,000 documents and records imaged, the process of uploading them to our site will take place in stages over the coming year. At launch, the collections feature a sample of the following records:
- GAA match programmes from inter-county and club competitions.
- Photographs from privately held collections of former county board officers and local GAA clubs.
- Transcripts of county board GAA meetings from 1880’s to 1950.
- Local news reports of GAA matches dating back to the 1890’s.
- Handball Alleys surveyed by Dick Herraty.
- GAA related videos uploaded to the Beo Mayo youtube channel.
As our team progresses through the materials already scanned and completes further uploads to our collections, we will keep everyone advised by this site.
